VCM Attributes provide a mechanism to add intelligence to the VCM. VCM Attributes are especially critical for task generation and automated creation of user defined groups, not just for display to the user.

VCM Attributes can come from a variety of sources:

• CAD data

• ISO data

• Line Lists

• ISO Lists

• Standard tables

• User-defined sources

VCM Attributes can be applied to a variety of nodes in the VCM:

• ISO

• ISO Sheet

• ISO Component

• ISO CompID

• Tasks

CSST is the mechanism by which VCM Attributes are defined and managed. Tables exist within CSST-DB to facilitate adding and saving attributes to the VCM that are common to pipe construction. By default the VCM for ConstructSim Planner is already configured with a set of Standard Pipe Attributes.

CSST contains tools to configure the standard attributes:

• Add new attributes

• Remove existing attributes

• Modify attributes

• Attribute mapping

• Transfer and “Push Down”

• Data entry and table review

• Manage data input sources
